Richard Baraniuk:
Testifying about college affordability (Rice News)

Bonnie Klindworth:
On September 25, Bonnie Klindworth passed away.  A lifelong Houstonian, she earned a BA in History from Rice in 1967.  She “enjoyed a rewarding career in administration, accounting, and management” in Houston.  Also, she was active in her church.  She is survived by, among others, her husband of 46 years, Peter.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

bCPAP Device:
UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon named the Rice developed bCPAP device among 10 breakthrough health innovations that can save women and children now.  The bCPAP was developed by Rice seniors at the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen as their engineering design capstone project in 2010.

Nathan Norem (19567 - 2013):
On September 12, Nathan Norem passed away.  A native South Dakotan, he earned an undergraduate degree from Augustana College and a PhD in Chemistry from Rice in 1989.  He worked as a chemist with Ashburn Chemical Technologies in Houston.  Click here for the obituary.

Paul Wright (1920 - 2013):
On September 5, Paul Wright passed away.  A native Arkansan, he graduated from Rice in 1942.  After military service in WWII, he worked as a chemical engineer in the United States and abroad.  He is preceded in death by, among others, his wife of 65 years, Marion.  Click here for the San Jose Mercury News obituary.
