Summer Baseball (Thanks, John Wolda!):
On Sunday, Jack Schultea’s Northwest Wildcats (34-2) lost 1-0 to the Connecticut Storm Bellows in the Stan Musial World Series finals in Farmingdale NY.  Overall, they have won the Series twice and finished 2nd five times.

Yesterday in Surprise AZ, League City lost to Nevada, 7-4, in the fourth round of the American Legion Western Regional Tournament and are eliminated.

Yesterday in Surprise AZ, League City defeated Utah, 6-1 in the third round of the American Legion Western Regional Tournament.  Today, League City plays Nevada, scheduled to start at 6 pm CT.

Yesterday in Surprise AZ, League City defeated Arizona, 14-2, in the second round of the American Legion Western Regional Tournament.  Today, League City plays Utah, scheduled to start at 11 am CT.

Owls in Summer Baseball:
In the Cape Cod Baseball League last night, both Falmouth and Hyannis lost their decisive third playoff games and are eliminated from the postseason.

In Wichita last night, the Santa Barbara Foresters lost to the El Dorado (KS) Broncos, 4-1, at the NBC World Series and are eliminated from the tournament.

Yesterday in Surprise AZ, incoming Rice baseball LHP Max McElligott was the losing pitcher as Fort Collins (CO) defeated League City, 19-4, in the first round of the American Legion Western Regional Tournament.  Today, League City plays Arizona, scheduled to start at 3 pm CT.

In the Cape Cod Baseball League last night, both Falmouth and Hyannis lost their second playoff games and will play decisive third games today.

In Wichita last night, the Santa Barbara Foresters lost to the Seattle (WA) Studs, 3-2, at the NBC World Series.  Tonight, the Foresters play the El Dorado (KS) Broncos in the Super Six round, scheduled to start at 10 pm CT.


Today in Surprise AZ, League City Post 554, featuring incoming Rice baseball LHP Max McElligott, opens play against Fort Collins (CO) in the American Legion Western Regional Tournament, scheduled to start at 3 pm CT.
