Arizona Fall League:
Yesterday, preliminary rosters for the Arizona Fall League, which begins on October 9, were announced.  Anthony Rendon is headed to The Valley of the Sun to play for the Salt River Rafters.

MLB/MiLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
Matt Langwell (3-0, 3.08) was the winning pitcher in relief for AAA Columbus, Lance Pendleton (8-6, 4.50) took the loss in game 2 for AAA Durham, Joe Savery (1-1, 4.64) earned a hold for AAA Lehigh Valley and Taylor Wall (3-1, 3.78) got a no-decision for R Helena.

Brock Holt (.425) went 3-for-5 for AAA Indianapolis and Jeremy Rathjen (.328) went 2-for-4 with 1 double, 2 runs and 3 RBI for R Ogden.

On Friday, Brock Holt was selected to the Eastern League All-Star team.  Yesterday, Jeremy Rathjen was selected to the Pioneer League All-Star team.  On Thursday, Jeremy Schaffer (Bellaire/Tulane) was selected to the Appalachian League All-Star team.

Jeff Niemann:
Yesterday, Jeff Niemann allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 4 innings before leaving the game after being hit on his throwing hand with a line drive in a rehab start for AAA Durham.

MLB/MiLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
Brock Holt (.406) went 2-for-4 with a run for AAA Indianapolis and Josh Rodriguez (.254) doubled for AAA Buffalo.

Per Indians Prospect Insider (paraphrasing), Matt Langwell “continues to just go out each season and consistently perform.  This year, he is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA in 38 combined games between AA Akron and AAA Columbus.  There is a chance he could get a September callup”.

Josh Geer (5-5, 4.47) did not factor in the decision for AA San Antonio and Jared Gayhart (1-4, 4.50) took the loss for AA Erie.
