Jeff Niemann:
With his win against Detroit on Tuesday night, Jeff Niemann is now 18-5 since June 1, 2009, which is the best record in the Major Leagues over that span for pitchers with 30 or more starts.

On Monday, Danny Lehmann was promoted from Double-A New Britain to Triple-A Rochester.

Jeff Niemann (9-3, 3.08) was the winning pitcher for Tampa Bay.  Jared Gayhart (1-1, 2.84) earned his 2nd save for Hi-A Lakeland.

Craig Stansberry (.277) went 4-for-4 with a double, a run and a walk for Triple-A Portland.

On Monday, Rick Hague was promoted from the Rookie GCL Nationals to Class-A Hagerstown.

Yesterday, Lance Pendleton was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 25.  In addition to two shutout outings during the week, Lance leads the Eastern League in strikeouts with 100 (in 108.1 innings).

Jared Rogers
(2-0, 1.23) was the winning pitcher for the Rookie Marlins.  Joe Savery (1-8, 5.03) got a no-decision for Triple-A Lehigh Valley while Josh Geer (7-9, 5.97) and Lucas Luetge (1-2, 4.61) took losses for Triple-A Portland and Double-A Huntsville, respectively.

Kyle Gunderson was released by Double-A Jacksonville last Saturday (July 17).

Lance Pendleton (9-4) allowed just 2 hits in 7 shutout innings to earn his 9th win for Double-A Trenton.  He has now strung together 13 shutout innings in his last 2 starts.  Jared Gayhart (1-1, 2.84) won his first game for Hi-A Lakeland while Jared Rogers (1-0, 1.54) won his first game for the Rookie Marlins.

Josh Rodriguez (.313) homered for the second time in as many nights for Triple-A Columbus.  Chad Mozingo (.219) tripled twice for Short-A Vermont while Rick Hague (.275) went 3-for-5 for the Rookie Nationals.
