Trivia Answer:
The late Malcolm Gillis, the sixth president of Rice from 1993 to 2004, received his BA and MA from the University of Florida.  On Tuesday night, the Gators won the College World Series in Omaha, their first ever national baseball championship.

Joanne Woodward attended LSU, won a 1957 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “The Three Faces of Eve”.  She was married to the late Paul Newman who won a 1986 Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in “The Color of Money”.  The Tigers are playing in the College World Series beginning this weekend.  (Thanks, Mike Ross!)

Three-year Rice football letterman Bill Batchelor ’71 (1968-69-70) became a Professor and Holder of the R. P. Gregory ’32 Chair in the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering at Texas A&M.  He recently retired. 

On Monday, the Aggies won the Houston Regional and they are advancing to the Super Regionals this weekend.
