Joe Durrenberger '54:
Last week, Joe Durrenberger and his team, the Nor-Cal Sharks, won the 2011 Summer National Senior Games 75+ Basketball Championship in Houston.   In the championship game, the Sharks defeated the Texas Hoopsters, 27-24.  A three-year basketball letterman (1954-55-56), Joe is a member of the Rice Athletic Hall of Fame as well as an actor.

Paul Hammon '75:
On Sunday, Paul Hammon scored a hole-in-one on the 180-yard No. 15 hole at Memorial Park.  The event was witnessed by John Eldridge '74, David Swenson '75 and Bryan Domning '75.

NCAA:
According to a recent Wall Street Jounral article, Rice is among 17 schools "with major athletic departments that have never been guilty of any major violation in any sport since 1953".

Joe Durrenberger will participate in the 2011 Summer National Senior Games in Houston June 16-30.  His basketball team, the Nor-Cal Sharks, will compete in the 75-79 division which begins play on June 21.  A three-year basketball letterman (1954-55-56), Joe is a member of the Rice Athletic Hall of Fame.
