Miami baseball holds the longest active streak for qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in any Division I men’s team sport at 42 years, just surpassing Johns Hopkins lacrosse whose active streak ended last year at 41 years.

George Miner ‘50, the 1995 ARA Gold Medal honoree, was a member of the Owl team that defeated Tennessee, 8-0, in the 1947 Orange Bowl.  As CEO of Miner-Dederick Construction, he built Reckling Park, the Shepherd School of Music and numerous other Houston landmarks.  Click here for the 1972 Rice Athletic Hall of Fame program and here for his 2002 obituary.
