Probable Pitchers Today:
Tony Cingrani (2-2, 2.86) is scheduled to start for Cincinnati against Chicago.  And, Matt Langwell is scheduled to make his first start for Somerset against Camden at 6:05 pm (CT).  You can listen to Justin Antweil broadcast the game at 1450 AM WCTC or on SPN.tv.

MLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
Philip Humber
(1-1, 4.82) struck out 5 in 2.1 scoreless innings of relief for AAA Sacramento. 

Anthony Rendon (.298) doubled for Washington.  Josh Rodriguez (.293) and Rick Hague (.238)  hit 2-run homers for AAA New Orleans and AA Harrisburg, respectively.

Independent Baseball:
Mark Haynes is on the 2014 roster of the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association. Three-year Rice baseball letterman Kenny Baldwin (1977-78-79) is part of the Lemurs ownership group.

And, Matt Langwell has just joined the Somerset NJ Patriots of the Atlantic League.  My second cousin, Justin Antweil (Miami ’11), is the radio/TV voice of the Patriots.  

MLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
Josh Geer (0-3, 2.40) scattered 3 hits over 8 shutout innings but got a no-decision for AA San Antonio and Austin Kubitza (3-0, 2.82) was the winning pitcher for A West Michigan. 

Anthony Rendon (.300) made a Gold Glove caliber play at third base for Washington.  Paul Janish (.230) went 3-for-6 with a double, a RBI and a strikeout for AAA Colorado Springs and Jeremy Rathjen (.229) doubled for Hi-A Rancho Cucamonga.  Also, Kyle Kubitza (.215) hit his first two AA homers for Mississippi.

Player Moves:
On Thursday, Michael Ratterree was assigned from AA Huntsville to A Wisconsin.  Yesterday, Boston optioned Brock Holt to AAA Pawtucket, Toronto signed Ryan Rowland-Smith (David Aardsma’s brother-in-law) to a minor league deal and Mark Appel was assigned from Hi-A Lancaster to extended spring training. 

MLB Scoreboard Yesterday:
Joe Savery
(4-0, 5.14) was charged with the blown save and then got the win for AAA Sacramento.

Anthony Rendon (.302) went 4-for-5 with 2 runs and 2 RBI for Washington.  Craig Manuel (.361) doubled and homered (his third in as many nights) for A Hagerstown and Michael Ratterree (.231) doubled and homered for A Wisconsin.
