The uncle of Rice Baseball freshman player Jackson Parthasarathy is one-year Sam Houston State baseball letterman Rick Linklater (1980).  Rick’s latest movie “Everybody Wants Some!!”, which opened the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin earlier this month, is partially about his Bearkat playing days.  Read more. 

Last night, Rice Baseball defeated Sam Houston State, 5-3, at Reckling Park.

The brother-in-law of Gus Schill ’55, who will receive a 2016 ARA Gold Medal at the Laureates Dinner on May 14, is 1958 Bob Quin Award winner Matt Gorges ‘58.  They are both shown in this 1996 photo of the Rice Board of Trustees.  (Thanks, Mike Ross!)
