William Kendall (1942 - 2013):
On February 25, William Kendall passed away.  A native Oklahoman, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Bachelor of Architecture from UH in 1967 and a Master of Architecture degree from Rice in 1970.  After working 10 years for SI Morris Associates, he co-founded Kendall/Heaton Associates in 1978 where he served as President.  Also, he was very active in his church.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Bob Young (1931 - 2013):
On February 20, Bob Young passed away.  A native Texan, he earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Baylor in 1953 and 1957, respectively and a PhD from Rice in 1960, all in nuclear physics.  He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission and IBM.  Also, he was very active in his church.  Click here for the Austin American-Statesman obituary.

Gene Jackson MD (1935 - 2013):
On February 6, Gene Jackson passed away.  A native Houstonian, he graduated from Rice in 1957 and from UT Medical School in 1962.  After military service, he practiced 30 years in various oncology roles in the Portland area.  He loved to travel and was active in local community and religious organizations.  Click here for the Oregonian obituary.

H Joe Nelson III '66 (Thanks, Jimmy Disch!):
Nelson volunteers to help nonprofits work toward financial security (Chronicle)

James Holmes (1916 - 2013):
On January 22, James Holmes passed way at the age of 96.  A native Marylander, he earned a bachelor's degree in arts and science from UVA in 1936, a master's degree in chemistry from Georgia Tech in 1938 and a PhD in chemistry from Rice in 1941.  He enjoyed a long professional career, retiring in 1979 after working 27 years with his last employer du Pont.  Click here for The News Journal obituary.

Mike Driscoll:
On February 19, longtime Harris County Attorney Mike Driscoll passed away at the age of 66.  He was the son of the late Vic Driscoll who was a three-year Rice football letterman (1930-31-32) as a standout quarterback.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

On February 18, Dr  MA Treadwall passed away.  A native Arkansan, he graduated from Rice in 1946 at the age of 19 and from UT Medical School in Galveston.  After military service, he practiced medicine in Eastland until his retirement in 2006.  Also, he was active in local educational, medical and community organizations.  Click here for the Abilene Reporter-News obituary.
