Trivia Answer:
Michael Fuda and Ryan Lewis were on the football team when Tom Herman was offensive coordinator (2007-8) and on the baseball team when David Pierce was assistant coach (2003-11).

Rice Trustee Advisor Judy Ley Allen attended Rice for two years (class of 1961) and graduated from Stanford.  While at Rice, she scored a safety in a powderpuff football game.  (Thanks, Mike Ross!)

Also, Judy’s parents graduated from Rice, the late hurdler Wendel Ley in 1932 and Audrey Moody Ley in 1935.  For many years, the family has generously supported Rice.  Among other acts of generosity, the Ley Student Center, the Wendel D Ley Track and the Audrey Moody Ley Plaza are named after them.  Read more.

This Saturday, Stanford football hosts Rice.

The first African-American head coach at Rice was Willis Wilson ’82 who coached from 1992 to 2008.  Presently, he is head coach at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.
