Lois Katherine Ongley (1951 - 2013):
On November 16, Lois Katherine Ongley passed away.  A native Michigander, she earned a BA in Geology from Middlebury in 1973, a MS in Geology from Texas A&M in 1977 and a PhD in Environment Science and Engineering from Rice.  She taught at Bates College and Unity College and enjoyed traveling around the world.  Click here for the BDN Maine obituary.

Colleen Kegg:
On November 13, Colleen Kegg passed away at the age of 62 after a long battle with a rare neurological disorder known as Cortical Basal Degeneration (CBD).  A native Houstonian, she graduated from Rice in 1973.  She moved to Santa Barbara in 1979 where she worked for the US Geological Survey while she obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCSB in 1982.  Click here for the Santa Barbara News-Press obituary.

On November 18, Charles Chenault passed away.  A native Louisianan, he earned a BA in Psychology from Rice in 1996.  He was a talented athletic trainer until the last three months when he began a new career at Allenco Fluid Products.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Woodson E Dryden (1924 - 2013):
On November 18, Woodson E Dryden passed away.  He attended Rice (class of 1945) where he was a one-year baseball letterman (1944) and captain of the team.  After military service in WWII, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas in 1948 and earned a law degree from the University of Texas in 1951.  He spent nearly his entire legal career in Beaumont and in 1972 was President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.  Click here for the Beaumont Enterprises obituary.
