The St. John’s football field is named after LaMar “Skip” Lee, a former Rice football teammate of Dan Hart.  He was a two-year Rice football letterman (1952-53).  After Rice, he coached at St. John’s for nearly 40 years.

First, thanks to John Joiner for the guest trivia question!

The award given to the top senior male student-athlete at Kinkaid is named after Dan Hart who was a three-year Rice football letterman (1951-52-53).  He caught the winning pass against UT in the 1953 game and he was a member of the 1954 Owls Cotton Bowl team.  After Rice, he served as a longtime coach and athletic director at Kinkaid.
