Houston Baseball Dinner, January 21:
The 25th annual Houston Baseball Dinner is set for Thursday, January 21.  Among the honorees will be Lance Berkman (Allen Russell Distinguished Achievement Award) and Anthony Rendon (Greater Houston Area Preseason College Player of the Year).  And, the 16-member All-Greater Houston Preseason High School team will be introduced.

The Dinner will be held in the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Americas Convention Center Hotel.  Tickets cost $75 and can be purchased by calling Jo Russell at 713 789-0626.

Jeff Niemann:
Niemann finishes fourth in ROY vote (MLB.com)

Yesterday, Brian Friday (.245) went 0-for-1 with a strikeout. Tyler Henley (.280) and Josh Rodriguez (.222) did not play.

Jeff Niemann:
Niemann ascends to AL ROY contention (MLB.com)

Bobby Bramhall:
Last Thursday, Bobby Bramhall underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow.  The surgery went well.  Bobby will rehab 9 to 12 months at the Brewers spring training facility in Phoenix, with a projected return to pitching late next summer in rehab outings.

Arizona Fall League:
No games scheduled yesterday.
