A Message from Jimmy Comerota:
“This is Jimmy Comerota again just wanting to thank you for all of your generous donations to the Rice Sport Management Howl-O-Ween Dogathon benefiting Rice Women’s Athletics.  We are extremely grateful for everything you have done for us as Rice Student Athletes and your support of this event once again demonstrates that incredible support.

Also, I’d like to invite you all once again to join us on October 31st from noon to 3 pm on the Rice inner loop starting in front of Tudor Fieldhouse.  Parking is free in West Lot 4 (the lot always open for Rice sporting events).  There will be kids playing carnival games and jumping in bounce houses, autographs from Rice student athletes, vendor booths from sponsors, costume contests with great prizes, a silent auction with awesome items and of course dogs walking the loop.

Once again, thank you for all your support and we would love to see you there!”

Quote of the Day:
Baseball America’s Aaron Fitt: “I do think you’ll see the Owls back in Omaha as usual in 2010 after a one-year absence.  For my money, Rice has the best offense in the nation heading into next season, and while there are pitching questions, I think this recruiting class will provide plenty of answers.  It’s not a real flashy class, but it’s filled with pretty polished arms who should contribute immediately.  As for Rendon, I think he might very well be the top returning player in the nation, regardless of class.”

A Message from Andrew Benak:
Hi, my name is Andrew Benak, and I am a baseball player at Rice. This semester, my Event and Facility Management class is putting on a fundraiser event for Rice Women’s Athletics, a Dog-A-Thon.  Instead of a Walk-a-Thon where you walk alone, you walk with your dog in a Dog-A-Thon.  Our Howl-A-Ween Dog-A-Thon takes place on October 31 from 12 noon to 3 pm on the inner loop starting in front of Tudor Fieldhouse.

Also, there will be costume contests for dogs and people, a kid’s zone, a silent auction, sponsor booths and other activities that make this a great event for the whole family.  All funds raised go to Rice Women’s Athletics and local dog shelters.  Our class would love for you to join us and I would appreciate your taking a moment to view my personal fundraising page here or the main page here.  Once again, thank you for any and all support.  GO OWLS!”
