Dan Pankowsky (1956 - 2014):
On January 25, Dan Pankowsky passed away after a battle with cancer.  A native Marylander, he earned a bachelors degree from Washington University in 1978 and a masters degree from Rice in 1983, both in Chemical Engineering, and a medical degree from UT in 1984.   He was a pathologist as well as an avid scuba diver and a patron of the arts.  Click here for The Tennessean obituary.

John Roy Kirkpatrick (1944 - 2014):
On January 22, John Roy Kirkpatrick passed away from injuries received in an automobile accident.  A native Texan, he earned a BA (1966), a MS (1968) and a PhD (1970) from Rice.  He was employed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  Also, he was active in his church.  Click here for the Knoxville News Sentinel obituary.

The American Institute of Architects has selected Wyatt Frantom ’01 as a recipient of the 2014 AIA Young Architects Award.  Read more.

Kim David '04:
In addition to Linda Thrane, Kim David ’04 was also named as one of ‘Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women”.  Read more. 

Elizabeth Potter Roach (1920 - 2014):
On January 13, Elizabeth Potter Roach passed away.  A native Houstonian, she graduated from Rice in 1942.  She “was a skilled artist, creative decorator, gracious entertainer, and loved to travel”.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
