On Monday, it was reported that former Rice Senior Executive Athletic Director and interim AD David Sayler was one of  three finalists for the UH AD position.  Presently, he is Miami University (Ohio) AD.  Yesterday, he said that he plans to stay put.  Read more.

Boston Marathon (Thanks, Russell Henderson!):
Among the runners with Rice ties who competed in the Boston Marathon yesterday were Dr. Marissa Daniels Jamieson ‘08 with a time of 3:12:19 and Lisa Thompson ‘90 with a time of 3:52:33, good for second place in the Women’s Visually Impaired Division.

UH Athletics:

C-USA Tennis Championships:
Yesterday, #1 Rice defeated #2 Marshall, 4-1, to claim the C-USA Women’s Tennis Championship for the third consecutive year.  With the win, the Owls automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship and the first two rounds take place May 8-10.

Also yesterday, #3 UTSA defeated #1 Rice, 4-2, to claim the C-USA Men’s Tennis Championship.
