Lennie Waite:
Yesterday, Lennie Waite won the 3000m Steeplechase at the Karlstad GP in Sweden with a lifetime best time of 9:40.39 and, by doing so, she met the world qualifying standard of 9:44.00 for the IAAF World Championships in Beijing next month.

C-USA Athletics:
Banowsky Steps Down as C-USA Commissioners (C-USA)

2015 National Senior Games, July 3-16, Minnesota:
Joe Durrenberger ’56 and his team (TeamUSA) won the gold medal in Men’s Basketball (80+ Division 1).  Also, Joe placed sixth in Shot Put (80-84) with a throw of 10.07m. 

The Ball Hawgs, featuring Houston based players John Coles (Rice ’69), David Gibbs (Rice ’70), Steve Gilliland (UVa ’74), Clay Hoster (UH ‘73) and Greg Layton (Utah ‘73), won the silver medal in Men’s Basketball (60-64).  They were recently featured in the Chronicle here.
