Don Ray (1927 - 2015):
On February 8, Don Ray passed away.  A native Wyomingite, he attended TCU and earned a PhD in English Literature from Rice in 1957.  He spent most of his career at the University of Calgary.  In retirement, he had an “unbridled passion for music, film and art”.  Click here for The Calgary Herald obituary.

On February 9, Robert Hess passed away.  A native Oklahoman, he graduated from Rice in 1958.  He “loved LSU football, sailing, and working crossword puzzles.  He is survived by, among others, his wife Deanna.  Click here for the obituary.

The Founding Director's Lecture Series, March 9:
Next up in the lecture series is Richard Fisher, who retires this month as the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, next Monday evening, March 9 at the Baker Institute.  The event is open to the general public for a $20 registration fee.  Read more.

Gretchen Lash:
On January 16, Gretchen Lash passed away at the age of 61.  She earned an undergraduate degree from Cornell in 1975 and a MBA from Rice in 1986.  She was a well-known executive in the investment industry.  She is survived by, among others, her husband of 31 years, Randy.  Click here for the Hartford Courant obituary.
