Larry Whitmire:
On Thursday, Larry Whitmire ’58/'59/’64/’66 passed away.  A three-year Rice football letterman (1955-56-57), he was All-SWC tackle and tri-captain (with Matt Gorges and King Hill) of the 1957 SWC Championship Rice football team that upset #1 Texas A&M.  He is survived by, among others, his wife of 55 years, Rilda ’59. 

The memorial service will be 12:30 pm this Thursday, October 23, at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive.   Click here for the Rice release entitled “Rice mourns the Passing of Larry Whitmire”.

Mike Ford (1949 - 2014):
On October 13, Mike Ford passed away from complications of ALS.  A native Texan, he attended Rice where he played football.  He owned a construction company that did business throughout West Texas and New Mexico.  He was “a BIG MAN with an even bigger heart”.  Click here for the San Angelo Standard-Times obituary.
