Glenn Otto’s uncle John Otto graduated from Texas A&M in 1970 and is a former member of the Texas House of Representatives.  Last night, Glenn was the Owls starting pitcher against the Aggies in College Station.

Dr Chester “Chet” Palmer ‘42, who won the 1942 Bob Quin Award, played 1 game in the 1940 NCAA Tournament and 2 games in the 1942 NCAA Tournament.   With a total of 49 points scored, he is Rice’s leading NCAA Tournament scorer.  Later, he was wounded in the Normandy invasion.  Read more.

Director, screenwriter and producer Alexander Payne, who was born in Omaha and graduated from Stanford with a double degree in Spanish and History, is a two-time Academy Award winner.  Last night, Rice baseball started a four-game set with Stanford at Reckling Park.

The Woodlands High School teammates Charlie Warren (Rice) and Ryan Burnett (TCU) won the Texas Class 5A State Baseball Championship in 2013.  Teammates Alex Dunlap (Stanford) and Luke Sherley (Texas State) will be visiting Reckling Park to play the Owls this season.  Teammate Chris Andritsos (Texas A&M) will be hosting the Owls later this month.
