Patricia Lemmons (1929 - 2014):
On July 13, Patricia Lemmons passed away.  A native Houstonian, she earned a BA from Rice in 1951 and a Masters in Education from UH.  She was a librarian at St Johns and a teacher for 35 years.  Also, she was active in her church.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Martha J Smith:
On July 11, Martha J Smith passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 100.  A native Texan, she earned a BA in 1934 and a MA in French in 1938 from Rice.  She “served in the CIA where she was desk chief of the Latin American division, for which she was awarded a Career Achievement medal”.  Click here for The Washington Post obituary.

Sidney Clark (1923 - 2014):
On July 12, Sidney Clark passed away.  He attended Texas A&M and graduated from Rice in 1948.  After military service, he worked for Armco Steel for 34 years.  He was active in his church and in the community.  Click here for the Dallas Morning News obituary.

Soper brings dramatic potency to Tanglewood (Boston Globe)

Ronald Reagan (1943 - 2014):
On July 14, Ron Reagan passed away.  A native Mississippian, he received a BS in Civil Engineering from LSU in 1964, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Mechanics from Rice in 1966 and a PhD in Structural Engineering from LSU in 1970.  He worked for several oil companies and structural engineering firms as well as teaching as an adjunct professor in the Mississippi college system.  Click here for The Sun Herald obituary.

Neal Lane:
Lane to testify before Senate committee today (Rice News)

Richard Rudd (1954 - 2014):
On July 12, Richard Rudd passed away.  A native Texan, he earned a BA (1976) and a Masters in Accounting (1977) from Rice.  A CPA, he enjoyed one career in accounting and then another in national real estate capital markets.  Also, he had a “deep respect and passion for the outdoors.

A visitation ceremony will be held at Earthman Hunters Creek Funeral Home (8303 Katy Freeway) tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.
