KTRU to celebrate 50th anniversary with week of concerts (The Rice Thresher)

Dick Luna (1937-2016):
On December 15, Dick Luna passed away.  A native Houstonian, he earned a BA from Rice in 1959 and a JD from UT Law in 1962.  Also, he was a CPA.  He is survived by, among others, his wife Sally. Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Ola Moore (1924 - 2016):
November 19, Ola Moore passed away.  She was a member of the staff of Fondren Library from 1962 until she retired in 1993.  Also, she was active in the community and in her church.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

Rice has role in new $250M robotics manufacturing institute (Rice News)

Per a Rice Thresher tweet last night – “Update: The Rice University Police Department has identified the Rice students responsible for the graffiti on the segment of the Berlin Wall, the Moody art installation, and Hanszen College dormitory, according to President David Leebron and Provost Marie Lynn Miranda.”

Elwin Peacock (1928 - 2016):
On December 10, Elwin Peacock passed away.  A native Texan, he attended Rice (class of 1948) and graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder with a degree in Geology in 1949.  He enjoyed a career in the oil and gas business.  Also, he was active in the community and in his church.  He is survived by, among others, his wife of 67 years, Jane.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary
