First, I am pleased to pass along additional information about Zach Wright (Rice wide receiver) and Tyler Price (Notre Dame safety) who played football together at College Park High School in The Woodlands.  In fact, they have played with or against each other since they were 8 years old. William Ward Watkin
, who was the original Supervising Architect beginning in 1910 for the construction of the initial buildings of Rice and was the first chairman of the Rice Architecture Department (a position he held for some 40 years until his death in 1952), also planned the master campus and designed the seal for Texas Tech.

This week, Rice Historical Society members are receiving the latest Cornerstone, entirely devoted to Watkin, together with a reprint of the “Brochure of the Work of Wm Ward Watkin Architect” originally published the 1920s.
