Marie Lynn Miranda:

Cornelius Walker (1953-2017):
 On July 15, Cornelius Walker passed away.  A native Houstonian, he graduated from Rice in 1976  where he was a three-year football letterman (1972-73-74).  After playing professional football, he enjoyed a career with 3 national personal care companies.  He is survived by, among others, his wife, Denise. 

Tomorrow at the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church in Austin will be the visitation from 1 to 2 pm followed by the service at 2 pm.  Click here for the obituary.

Annice Compton O'Donnell (1933-2017):
On May 17, Annice Compton O’Donnell passed away.  A native Texan, she attended Rice and met Gary O’Donnell ’54 whom she married.  After 4 children, she graduated from Rice in 1962.  She enjoyed a career in education in various cities in Texas and, at the same time, earned a masters in History from Southwest Texas State in 1970 and a PhD in Education from UT.  In the 1980s, they moved to Las Vegas to enjoy retirement.  She is predeceased by, among others, Gary (they were married for 60 years).  Click here for the Las Vegas Review-Journal obituary.

Thomas Haskell (1939-2017):
On July 12, Dr. Thomas Haskell passed away.  A native of Virginia, he earned degrees from Princeton and Stanford and was a professor of history at Rice for 39 years.  He “was deeply committed to the university’s academic mission and won teaching awards for his stirring lectures and dedication to his students.”  He is survived by, among others, his wife of 50 years Dorothy.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary.

On May 8, Bob Ross passed away.  A native Texan, he graduated from Rice in 1970 where he played freshman baseball and he earned a Masters from Vanderbilt in 1973.  He enjoyed a longtime career in finance in Houston.  He is survived by, among others, his wife Jacqulyn.  Click here for the Chronicle obituary

New book by Utpal Dholaki guides managers on pricing decisions (Rice News)

William Davis, PhD (1939 - 2017):
On May 13, Dr William Davis passed away.  Born in Alabama, he received 2 degrees from Abilene Christian in 1960 and 1961 and a PhD in Philosophy from Rice in 1965.  He taught at UH for 2 years and at Auburn for 47 years.  He is survived  by, among others, his wife Jill.  Click here for the Elk Valley Times obituary.
