In 2001, the corrected site of Travelers’ Rest, the campsite near Lolo, Montana where Lewis and Clark rested before their passage across the Rockies from September 9 to 11, 1805 and again on their return journey from June 30 to July 3, 1806, was purchased by The Conservation Fund, thanks to the generosity of an anonymous member of the 1998 Rice Alumni Traveling Owls Lewis & Clark Expedition led by John Boles.
My wife Nancy and I were very pleased to be members of the 2015 version of this trip from July 7 to 17. We retraced a portion of the explorers’ actual route in Montana and Idaho including Travelers' Rest.
Registration is now open for fall classes at the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. Click here for the Glasscock School website.
