Friday night, Jon Duplantier and John Williamson pitched to advance the Santa Barbara Foresters to the Championship Game of the NBC World Series in Wichita. Last night, Ford Stainback singled and scored the eventual winning run in the 12th inning as the Foresters edged the Seattle (WA) Studs, 3-2, to claim the 80th NBC World Series Title.
Jon Duplantier was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Senior League World Series, Bangor:
The Senior League World Series in Bangor ME begins today, with the West University Little League Senior team (“US Southwest”), along with 4 other regional teams from the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe-Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Maine District 3 champion, the host district. The field of 10 is split into 2 pools and US Southwest is in Pool B with Europe-Africa, Latin America, US Central and US East. One of the WU Little League Senior team pitchers is former Rice baseball batboy Cameron Cash. Also, two of his teammates, outfielder Owen Holt and infielder Jimmy Winston, have family ties to Rice. Owen is the son of Maynard Holt ’89 and Jimmy is the grandson of Pamela ’69 and Dr. Leeland Winston ’69, a three-year Rice football letterman (1966-67-68).
