Owls in Summer  Ball:
In California Collegiate League playoff action yesterday, the LA Brewers, featuring Khevin Brewer won once in the winner’s bracket and the Neptune Beach Pearl, featuring Dane Myers and Ricky Salinas, won two extra-inning elimination games in the loser’s bracket to advance to the championship game(s) today.  Read more. 

Yesterday, Ryan Chandler went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI as the Santa Barbara Foresters defeated the San Antonio (TX) Titans, 9-3, in their first game at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  Today, the Foresters will play the St Joseph (MO) Mustangs in the winner’s bracket, scheduled at 4 pm CT. 

Senior League World Series:
The Senior League World Series in Bangor ME begins today, with the West University Little League Senior team (“US Southwest”), opening its title defense against US West (Nogales National LL, Nogales AZ) at 10 am CT.  This year, the series will be played in a modified double-elimination format.  Read more.

The California Collegiate League playoffs start today.  The no. 1 seed North Division Champions Neptune Beach Pearl, featuring Dane Myers and Ricky Salinas, face the no. 4 seed South Division Champions LA Brewers, featuring Khevin Brewer.

Owls in Summer Ball:
On Saturday, the Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Willy Amador, Ryan Chandler and Glenn Otto, begin play at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  The Foresters have won the NBC World Series title 5 times since 2006.

Seton Hall Baseball:
On Sunday, Craig Biggio became the first Seton Hall baseball player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.  Interestingly, another Pirate baseball player, Carl ‘Moose’ Miller ’54 is the grandfather of three-year Rice baseball letterman Adam Zornes (2006-07-08) who  won the 2008 Dell Morgan Award as the team’s most valuable player.

Owls in Summer Ball:
Last Thursday night, Austin Solecitto pitched 1 inning for the Kaiser Division in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game in Quakertown PA.  He struck out 3 of the 4 batters he faced.

Owls in Summer Ball:
Yesterday, Blake Fox started the Cape Cod Collegiate League All-Star game for the West and retired the side on 8 pitches.  Also, Charlie Warren entered the game as a defensive replacement and went 0-for-1.  Read more.

The Cape Cod Collegiate League All-Star game is today at 5 pm CT in Wareham and will be televised by FOX College Sports.  Blake Fox and Charlie Warren are on the Western Division team and Blake will be the starting pitcher for the West.   Read more.

Owls In Summer Ball:
On Wednesday night, Dane “shoeless” Myers doubled and hit a 2-run homer to help lead the Neptune Beach Pearl to a 8-2 win over the Walnut Creek Crawdads in the California Collegiate League.   And, last night, he struck out 10 in 6 shutout innings as the Pearl blanked the PUF Capitalists, 1-0.
