George Peach Taylor Jr ’75, who served as the 18th Air Force Surgeon General from 2002-2006, was named an ARA Distinguished Alumni in 2007.  Interestingly, his father George Peach Taylor was a prominent civil rights lawyer in Alabama and Mississippi and the University of Alabama School of Law bestows the George Peach Taylor Award for excellence in trial advocacy.  (Thanks, Mike Ross!)

Trivia Answer:
Ruth Simmons, who was president of Smith (1995-2001) and Brown (2001-2012), is presently president of Prairie View A&M.  Also, she serves on the Rice Board of Trustees.  Click here for one of my favorite articles (The Guardian, October 3, 2006) about her.  

Last night, Rice W Basketball won at Prairie View A&M, 88-68.
