College World Series:
Yesterday, North Carolina (N1) defeated South Carolina, 5-4, to round out the field of 8 in Omaha.

Therefore, the field is comprised of eight (1) seeds.  They are Indiana, LSU (N4), Louisville, Mississippi State, North Carolina (N1), North Carolina State, Oregon State (N3) and UCLA.

The five eliminated national seeds are Vanderbilt (N2), Cal State Fullerton (N5), Virginia (N6), Florida State (N7) and Oregon (N8).

Last Saturday, the Woodlands defeated Fort Bend Dulles, 9-5, to win the Class 5A baseball state title at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.  Dulles is coached by Clinton Welch, a three-year Rice baseball letterman (1981-82-83).

Today at noon, Fort Bend Dulles faces Arlington Martin in the Class 5A baseball state semifinal at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.  Dulles is coached by Clinton Welch, a three-year Rice baseball letterman (1981-82-83).

Dulles eliminated Cy-Ranch, defending state champs, two weeks ago.  Cy-Ranch is coached by John Pope, a two-year Rice baseball letterman (1988-89).

Owls Raleigh Bound!:
Last night, Rice defeated Oregon, 11-4, to win the Eugene Regional.  With the win, Rice advances to the Super Regionals to play at North Carolina State Friday 3 pm CT (ESPN2), Saturday 3 pm CT (ESPN2) and, if necessary, Sunday 3 pm (ESPNU).

Overall Regional Results:
The 16 regional winners are fourteen (1) seeds and two (2) seeds.  The (1) seeds are Cal State Fullerton (N5), Florida State (N7), Indiana, Kansas State, LSU (N4), Louisville, Mississippi State, North Carolina (N1), North Carolina State, Oregon State (N3), South Carolina, UCLA, Vanderbilt (N2) and Virginia (N6).  The two (2) seeds are Oklahoma and Rice.

The two (1) seeds eliminated are Oregon (N8) and Virginia Tech.

Oregon Regional Owl Tailgate:

Regional Winners:
So far, 11 regional winners have been determined including ten (1) seeds and one (2) seed.  The (1) seeds are Cal State Fullerton (N5), Florida State (N7), Indiana, Kansas State, LSU (N4), Louisville, North Carolina State, Oregon State (N3), UCLA and Virginia (N6).  The (2) seed is Oklahoma. 

The South Carolina regional is one day behind due to weather.

Regional Losers:
So far, Virginia Tech is the only (1) seed eliminated.

Monday Schedule:
