Owls in Summer Ball:
Last night, Bourne blanked Wareham, 4-0, to sweep the first round (best-of-3) of the Cape Cod Collegiate League playoffs.  The Gatemen, featuring Blake Fox and Charlie Warren, are eliminated from the postseason. 

Last night, the Valley Center (KS) Diamond Dawgs blanked the Santa Barbara Foresters, 7-0, in the winner’s bracket at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  The Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Willy Amador, Ryan Chandler and Glenn Otto, resume play tomorrow.


Senior League World Series, Bangor:
Yesterday, US East defeated the West U Little League Seniors, 5-1, in their third game of the Senior League World Serie  in Bangor ME.  Next up, the team (“US Southwest”) replays US Southeast (Dumfries VA DTQ) at 7 pm CT today.  The loser is eliminated.

Sam Houston State Baseball:
Former Bearkat infielder Ryan Farney (SHSU ’15), who was a member of the 2009 West U Little League Senior National Championship team with John Williamson, will be a Sam Houston State baseball graduate assistant coach for the 2015-16 season.

Owls in Summer Baseball:
Last night, Bourne defeated Wareham, 7-1, in game 1 of the first round (best-of-3) of the Cape Cod Collegiate League playoffs.  Game 2 is tonight at 6 pm CT. 

Tonight, the Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Willy Amador, Ryan Chandler and Glenn Otto, play the Valley Center (KS) Diamond Dawgs in the winner’s bracket at the NBC World Series in Wichita, scheduled at 9 pm CT.

Senior League World Series, Bangor:
 
Yesterday, the West U Little League Seniors defeated US Southeast, 8-2in their second game of the Senior League World Series in Bangor ME.  Next up, the team (“US Southwest”) plays US East (Upper Moreland PA LL) at 4 pm CT today.

Owls in Summer Ball:
Incredibly, after losing their first game on Friday, the Neptune Beach Pearl, featuring Dane Myers and Ricky Salinas, won two extra-inning elimination games on Saturday and then won two championship games against the LA Brewers, featuring Khevin Brewer, yesterday to claim the California Collegiate League championship.  Read more.

Yesterday, the Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Willy Amador, Ryan Chandler and Glenn Otto, defeated the St Joseph (MO) Mustangs, 10-3, in their second game at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  Tomorrow evening, the Foresters play the Valley Center (KS) Diamond Dawgs in the winner’s bracket, with the time to be announced.

On the last day of the regular season yesterday, the Wareham Gateman, featuring Blake Fox and Charlie Warren, qualified for the Cape Cod Collegiate League playoffs beginning today.

Senior League World Series, Bangor:
Yesterday, Robby Winston was the winning pitcher in relief as the West U Little League Seniors edged US West, 5-4, in 12 innings in their opening game of the Senior League World Series in Bangor ME.  Next up, the team (“US Southwest”) plays US Southeast (Dumfries VA DTQ) at 9 am CT today.

Owls in Summer  Ball:
In California Collegiate League playoff action yesterday, the LA Brewers, featuring Khevin Brewer won once in the winner’s bracket and the Neptune Beach Pearl, featuring Dane Myers and Ricky Salinas, won two extra-inning elimination games in the loser’s bracket to advance to the championship game(s) today.  Read more. 

Yesterday, Ryan Chandler went 2-for-3 with a run and a RBI as the Santa Barbara Foresters defeated the San Antonio (TX) Titans, 9-3, in their first game at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  Today, the Foresters will play the St Joseph (MO) Mustangs in the winner’s bracket, scheduled at 4 pm CT. 

Senior League World Series:
The Senior League World Series in Bangor ME begins today, with the West University Little League Senior team (“US Southwest”), opening its title defense against US West (Nogales National LL, Nogales AZ) at 10 am CT.  This year, the series will be played in a modified double-elimination format.  Read more.

On Saturday, the Santa Barbara Foresters, featuring Willy Amador, Ryan Chandler and Glenn Otto, begin play at the NBC World Series in Wichita.  The Foresters have won the NBC World Series title 5 times since 2006.

Seton Hall Baseball:
On Sunday, Craig Biggio became the first Seton Hall baseball player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.  Interestingly, another Pirate baseball player, Carl ‘Moose’ Miller ’54 is the grandfather of three-year Rice baseball letterman Adam Zornes (2006-07-08) who  won the 2008 Dell Morgan Award as the team’s most valuable player.

Owls in Summer Ball:
Last Thursday night, Austin Solecitto pitched 1 inning for the Kaiser Division in the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game in Quakertown PA.  He struck out 3 of the 4 batters he faced.
